In our Slovenian family every holiday season, we gather around our grandmother's worn wooden table to bake potica, the traditional walnut roll. The dough is stretched paper-thin and filled with ground walnuts mixed with honey, cinnamon.

As the cake bakes, the house fills with warmth, of home.

This is what the holidays mean to us: the beautiful, messy, sacred act of making something together.

After a year spent indoors, we have had to adapt to a new (more sedentary) lifestyle. In my life, working on the computer and being a digital artist, most of my days are spent exclusively on the computer.

For a lot of artists (Myself included) inspiration seems to only strike in the late hours of the evening. This is an illustration exploring that idea.
